I can’t believe I have over 200+ followers! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy day and with so many blogs out there that you follow me! It means a lot, as many of you know I have only one daughter and she is off to college and this has been a wonder experience to fill the emptiness I feel now that she is gone. So, before I get to mushy and teary eyed here is my blog giveaway:

This is the front and back of my “Pretty As A Peacock Pocketbook Album”. On the front cover you could add a photo or your initial or journal, you also, could add a big flower or butterfly. Here is the inside pages:

Try It On Tuesday Challenge

I am trying out for the design team at Try It On Tuesday. This week the challenge is using a slide card, the theme is “in the mail”. I didn’t have a slide card so, I came up with my version.

I took Tim’s packaging for his tiny stapler and created this all occasion card.

I created a shaker box from the packaging and added some tiny gold butterflies and beads. I inked all around with a gold dabber and used a recollections butterfly.

DCWV~Royal Garden “Pretty As A Peacock Pocketbook Albums

I got this paper pad at Joann Fabrics and wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do with it? I have made 6 of my pocketbook albums at the Flanders Crop this weekend which I have gone to the past 3 years. First, I want to show you the Dusty Attic peacock feathers that I painted and then added stickles, too.

The paper pack came with jade green, hot pink, royal blue, gold and white shades. I did the hot pink for Lois at the scrap beach for a mini swap. I hope she loves peacocks…lol

I hope you like it Lois! Now the pack comes with a white peacock, it looks kind of creepy, but I think it is my favorite, haven’t quite finished it yet:

I’m going to paint one of the Dusty Attic peacock feathers white and add to this page. I think I will put Gabby’s communion pictures in here. Now, at the end of the week I will be posting a giveaway for Kathryn from Life on the Scrap Beach for her “Scrappy Bowl Party” which will take place on Super bowl Sunday and the other I am going to do a giveaway on my blog for reaching over 2oo followers. My annual Cookie Swap was another fabulous celebration, THANKS ladies it always makes my Holiday special:

This was my invitation this year, which was perfect for my Frosty the Snow Puddle Treats. This was the perfect card which I learned from Kathryn’s Euro Chat. I did mine with mulberry paper, isn’t it so cute how it looks up at you with open arms to give you a hug. Her inspiration for this was Anya from aschoss.blogspot.com.

The Stamp Man Challenge

The challenge is to make an ornament at The Stamp Man Challenges. I recycle a heart shape packaging that had a heart shaker in it. I used Tim’s pine cone sizzix die to make the little white rose. I used Martha Stewart’s fern punch and the tree and snowman are from the Stamp Man. I stamp them with white staz on ink onto acrylic and added the stickles behind the stamp. The nice thing about adding the stickles from the back is you don’t have to be super careful where you add the stickles, like color book coloring. Love that. The snow is from my mulberry paper and tiny star bling in the center of the small snowflakes. Of course, white crepe paper with diamond stickles on the edges. Love how cute it looks.

Bo Bunny Enchanted~Match Book Mini’s

This is Gabby, of course, at Disney…how she loved her Dalmatian dogs then. I also, was asked to make some torn puppies:

I created the 6 matchbook mini’s from this paper pad at Michaels.

These books are super easy to make, I watched Kathy from Paper Phenomenon on her utube channel how to create these.

Kathy made beautiful bands to go around her books, but I just left mine plain. Love this paper pad with the kraft paper. I was able to get 6 books out of this paper pad with 6 sheets of kraft paper added. Thanks so much Kathy, love them. Well, have a great week. Hugz, Z

Hope you had a Great Thanksgiving! I have been working on some layouts for Scrappers Cove using Authentique Collection~Gathering:

Love this aqua, brown and orange combination. Isn’t this little canvas girl so cute. It reminded me of Gabby and I got it from ebay from the designer Andrea. If you look closely at the second one you will notice the squirrel and acorns that are in the doily circle. I used a lot of prima flowers and bling. Have a great week. Hugz, Z

Pocketbook Mini

I love making these pocketbook mini’s. This one is for Kathy from Paper Phenomenon. Everyone was asking for her mini’s so she wanted one from us. I already started mine, but at her ning site they are creating a page and it will be bound and sent to her. I had this paper pack for a very long time, Amber Blue. Kathy wanted to have a sewn mini so I made this one for her. I know she loves pink, I just started watching her a couple of weeks ago and really don’t know much of her so, I hope she like this mini I created for her:

I love making these high heel shoe tags. Notice the mark I made on the shoe “Made by Z”. ;o) This is the second one I made because Miss Holly loved it so much she ate it…lol

Bo Bunny~Snowfall Mini

Each page reminded me of a box of yummy chocolates…lol

Here is my class for Dec. I will be teaching at Scrappers Cove. Love this aqua, brown and white combination. I cut the acrylic and inked the edges with staz-on. Doesn’t the snowfall look like snow.

This is an ek sucess tree punch. I took the trees and turn them upside down and used the other piece to create a banner. I used twine to thread thru the trunks of the trees. Love how it came out:

Happy Birthday Gabby ~Pink Mini

Where did the time go? Can’t believe that she is 21 today. Isn’t she so cute! I have been working on some pink mini’s for Susan G. Komen for the cure for breast cancer. Here is a little sneak peek I will give you more on it next week.

I have to get a better picture it is so cloudy here in NJ you can’t see that it is really a hot pink glitter zebra stripe. I hand strung the beads and use clay beads I got off of ebay.

G45 Christmas~Bo Bunny Welcome Home~Winners of Giveaway

Here are my latest projects, first is using Bo Bunny’s Welcome Home paper line. I just love the color combination. This was inspired by Laura from Following the Paper Trail:

The wreath on the front door is using the Memory Box dies. The next one I really love using the G45 Christmas collection:

It is a drum I made from a box I got at Michaels, this has 12 pages to do a countdown to the last 12 days of Christmas. Each page contains a hidden ornament to be discovered and placed on the tree. With the star being the last of the 12 days to be place on the top of the tree. Here is a sneak peek of some of the pages.

I’ll be doing these classes at Scrappers Cove in November. And now the winners of the Ranger Warehouse Sale~only 4 comments and 4 prizes, so, that was easy one for each of you. Martha Stewart and Anna Griffin

I went to the Martha Stewart Show this week as it was craft week all week. I made Martha a dog bone album with Anna Griffin’s Fifi and Fido collection:

This is her two french bull dogs I made from mulberry paper.

This was what we got in our goody bags, her new paints, stencils, holiday crafts book, new bottle tops, cutie pie recipe book. Have a great weekend. Ranger Warehouse~Haul 4 GIVEAWAYS

Several people asked me to post what I got at the Ranger Warehouse sale so here it is:

I got this rack to hold my stickles and alcohol inks for $3.00. This has 5 shelves I got have of the stickles on the top from last years sale, half is filled with diamond stickles (my favorite) and the other half is filled with crystal stickles. The smaller rack on the left is one I got last year that holds my distress stains.

I forgot 2 bottles of liquid pearls in this picture and a bag of Tim’s bingo chips. We paid $6.00 a pound~I got all this for $60.00~the color wash a lone is $6.00 a bottle.

I love to share, so, I am having 4~ yes 4 giveaway’s!

GLIMMER MIST~Fantastic TIP

Tattered Angels came out with a Glimmer Mist Sample book~at the cost of $50.00. Although, it is hand made it is just a little to pricey for me….Soooooo, this is what I came up with:

I didn’t like the new red labels on the cap so I removed them and placed them at the bottom.

First, peel up one side of the label..(never realized how easy they peel back!) then:

Just snip a piece off and attach to the cap:

Wah whooo! no more lifting each bottle to see what color it is. Pretty fabulous, if I do say so myself….teeheeteehee. If you watch Kathryn from the scrapbeach her tip is to put bb’s in the old bottles so you don’t have to shake them up as much. Have a great weekend. Hugz, Z

Let’s Get Shabby~Challenge #26

Let’s Get Shabby Challenge this month is using Toile and Ticking. I wanted to show most of the background so I didn’t cover it up as much.

I made this flower with crepe paper, stamped the center, glimmer mist and used stickles. The die cut is a Cheery Lynn Die cut.

Here is a better close up and I made the flowers and used the prima packaging lace doilies. I wanted to add more dimension without covering it up. I also, used the ticking to create the flowers. I painted the corrugated background with off white acrylic paint and distress the edges with Tim’s pumice stone.

Melissa Frances~Creative Keepsake Expo

I went to the Creative Keepsake Expo in Valley Forge and took this class with Melissa Frances, “Terrific Techniques”:

I always wanted to learn how to do these crepe roses and then added white mica flakes.

It was a great class and Melissa was so nice. I can’t believe she was teaching because she had just had surgery. Here is another class I took “Mixed Media” working with chipboard, acrylic and canvas.

I love using glue arts tape runner and they have come out with two new ones. Tape specifically, for fabric and one called “extreme tac” which we used in the class. It works fabulous on acrylic, chipboard, canvas and grunge. Loved it. Even Holly loved it…lol

Watermelon Mini Album

I have been so busy since I have been back I don’t know which way I’m going….LOL Here is a mini I did before I left for vacation:

Bo Bunny Barefoot and Bliss Collection

Back from Turks and Caicos, soooo beautiful. I took this picture and it looks just like a post card:

Here is a 8 x 8 album I created for the girls:

They are known for their Konch and their national bird is the flamingo. The girls stamped the canvas and added the flamingo, shell and fibers.

I was in a swap from Life on the Scrap Beach with Cassi from It Smells Like Scrap. We had to create 3 tags using 3 different Graphic 45 collections. I choose the Magic of Oz, Goddess Collection and the duet collection:

This was my favorite! I will have to make one for myself. I took tissue paper and adhere it to the tag then ran it threw the cuttlebug using Tim’s embossing folder. I hand cut the high heel shoe and added the bow and feathers. Really love this tag! I’m off for vacation and will be back after the 4th. Have a Happy 4th of July and a great week. Hugz, Z

THANK YOU to our U.S. Troops

Two weeks ago Kathryn from Life on the Scrap Beach on her Thursday weekly Ustream show told a story of a 10 year old boy, Stephen Goodman from Surprise, AZ who wanted to send a thank you card to all military personnel. Not to one platoon, or to just one division, but to every actively deployed service member in the U.S. military.

Donations are being accepted from anyone creating handmade thank you cards on Stephen’s behalf. For every five cards and envelopes sent to Bazzill, the maker will be entered into a drawing to win two FREE tickets to the last Creative Escape 2011 (travel and accommodations, not included). It took me an hour to do these, imagine Stephen and his family have already done more than 15,000 themselves! I really hope he reaches his goal. It is totally awesome, whether you believe in the war or not it is important that each of our men and women know how much they are loved and how much we wish their speedy and safe return home. Please, be sure when making your cards that you DO NOT use glitter. It shines in the night and makes them an easy target. I hope you find it in your hearts to help Stephen.

Let’s Get Shabby Challenge #24

Well, this month’s challenge at Let’s Get Shabby is to Create a project based on a favorite memory or photo from YOUR childhood. So, here is a photo of ME when I was 3 yrs old…lol

It is always a challenge for me to do vintage shabby chic. I realize how much I love bright colors…lol

This is an old earring I got from an antique store when I was with my friend June, prima flowers, webster’s cameo and prima bling. I die cut the pink heart and added some vintage ribbon, doilies and the wire beads have tiny vellum pink hearts. Be sure to check out the other creations from the fabulous LGS design team

We got Holly shaved for the summer…lol Here is what she looks like now.

Prima~Moulin Rouge~Swirlydoo’s Cabaret

Got a chance to scrap with my friend June and I did two layouts this week.

This was my Swirlydoo’s kit from last month. I did scrap lift the curtain with the ruffle, really makes it pop, love it. I added the tulle to make a curtain. I love the way that looks because it doesn’t really take away from the layout but adds some whimsy to it. I added some black diamond stickles, but it really doesn’t show very well. I have been slacking doing my kits…lol Here is another layout:

It is a shame that you can see the stickles and glossy accents I used on this layout. The heart bling is from scrap that which can be used in conjunction with spellbinber’s nestibilities.

I lost my hard drive today so, hubby told me to go and get a Mac! So, excited. Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting me! Hugz, Z

Dog Beach~Zva bling~Versatile Blog Award

We took Holly to dog beach in our town over the weekend. I like using the corrugated paper, it reminds me of the foam from the waves on the sand. I used a recollection flower from Michaels, new Zva bling and Bo Bunny rub ons.

I found this metal beach tag and it’s hard to see but states on the top “dog taxes” ~how funny is that. The rub on says: “my heart is at home by the sea”.

I have to give a big shout out to Sandy from Details by Sandy for my Versatile Blog award.

Stationary Show~Tim Holtz~Paper Runway~SMASH Book

I had such a fun day in NYC today! Geralyn and I went to the Stationary Show in New York City. Of course, it was exciting to see Tim’s new line “District Market”:

Geralyn has finally got her photo with Tim…..Every time we meet him she always takes my picture with Tim, but never got her picture taken until today…lol

Pink Paislee~Butterfly Garden

I just love this line from Pink Paislee~Butterfly Garden. This is a class I did this weekend. I created the hat and mini album that fits inside:

This is the front cover.

These mats slide in and behind the dress form.

The mat on the left actually, pulls out into a tri fold. Love the bird cages and the fairy.

Here you can see how the mat slide’s behind the envelope and two tags slide inside.

Here I have 3 postcards that fit into the pocket and then 2 mats are inserted on the right page with a cute butterfly charm.

This is the back of the album with Tim’s tape and a cute lady button.

Here is the completed album with the ribbons.

New Recollections~Flowers

Hi, you know how much I love my prima flowers, well I was at my local Michael’s store and they got in new flowers and crystals. All in the color scheme of red, white and blue. Here is my layout I create with some of them:

Doesn’t Gabby look so cute with her shades. I don’t know why the large photo looks faded, it’s not? The say it in pearls also, came in red, white and beige. The canvas flower came in several pattern’s and several different ribbons. Can’t wait to do some 4th of July layouts.

Scrappers Cove asked me to do some layouts for the store so, here are a few that I did:

I don’t have any boys, so boy layouts are a challenge for me.

Let’s Get Shabby~Challenge #22

This month’s challenge with Let’s Get Shabby is “Beatrix Potter” inspired. I took this photo of Gabby when she was just 6 months old. I smocked the dress with little bunnies. I used G45 paper as well as prima, doily, I crackled the white eggs and used bronze and platinum utee to create the chocolate bunnies and eggs.

I used liquid pearls and stickles on the big eggs. Here is a closer look at the utee bunnies. Hard to notice the clay fairy cameo I made and the cute little mouse on the left hand corner. The brown flourishes feel like suede on the paper.

Demo Somerset Expo~Canvas ATC cards

If you are in the area on May 20, I will be doing a demo for Scrappers Cove booth using Ranger’s canvas Artist trading cards with Ranger’s new distress stains.

They are the perfect size for Tim’s new sizzix dress form die.

The one on the left is done with the stain faded jeans and I took score tape to create the stripes and then peeled off and added glitter. The middle is the backing from the embossed card and added diamond stickles on the flourish. I used Tim’s new embossing texture places “fancy & floral frames” by sizzix. The next one is done with stamping the web using the forest moss stain and brushing over the piece lightly with wild honey stain. I stickled the web and added the stickled spider on the tulle. I used silver stickles for the base of the dress form.

The next is the brown dress which I used the back of the trading card, the sticky back and poured glitter, doesn’t really show up well here. The last one I embossed and inked with the antique linen and light brushed over the flourish with vintage photo stain. I also dyed the ribbon with the antique linen.

The roses as well as the butterfly wings are done with the vellum and the stains. I saw this on Laura’s blog: following the paper trail. I just love her work, be sure to check her out. She will be one of 13 that made the G45 design team. They are lucky to have her she is amazing.

New Embellishments~Wild Orchard Crafts

I’ve been sick with the flu this past week, still not feeling well, but thought I would share with you what I got in the mail. Of course, even when you’re sick in bed there is still online shopping. ;o)

DCWV~Lady Couture

I’m loving this new paper stack “lady couture” by Die Cuts With a View.

I used the sheer flowers I made last week, Prima butterfly, say it in crystals as well as the packaging that it came on, Webster’s ribbon, my vintage doily and HO3 bling for the center of my flower. Of course, this is Gabby in the dress I made her with cross stitching on the collar that spells ‘MUSIC’ with different instruments.

Sheer Flower Tutorial~Something Special

I have been playing with sheer fabric to make these gorgeous flowers. All you need is sheer fabric cut into several size circles, I used 3 inch and 2 inch circles. Once you have cut the circles I layered them in 2’s and 4’s to create the flowers.

You then take a tea light candle and pick up your sheer circles with tweezers and hold it over the flame. The closer you get to the flame the more curl you can have. Now remember you are working with FLAMMABLE fabric! It CAN catch fire! I blow it out but if you are not comfortable with blowing it out keep a small bowl of water next to you that you can drop the lit fabric in, safety first. Here are some samples I have created:

You can add buttons, gems, pearls or anything you like in the centers. I used Jolee’s bling and House of 3 gems.

Now I made this 6 x 6 page for someone very special.

This is the front with a special message inside~love how my flowers came out. Then this is the back:

Love my bears! The extra thick mulberry paper really makes them pop. I added stickles to the dress made with a junkitz flower. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Hugz, Z

Let’s Get Shabby Challenge~21

This month’s Challenge is Blue Jeans and Lace. Be sure to visit Let’s Get Shabby blog to see the other DT samples.

I took the lace and glimmer mist with Bell Bottom Jeans and a sizzix butterfly die cut in the upper right hand corner, then I made the zipper flower and with the left over trim the picture and wrapped it around the jean hook. I got the cute button at Joann Fabric’s~doesn’t it look like Gabby…lol

I cut off the corner to create the leaf behind the flower. Here is a closer look:

Gabby loved her Dalmatian dogs, she always carried one around with her. Love the new stickles Paprika, now if they would only come out with a brown I would be happy! ;o)

Best Creations~St. Patty’s Banner

Gabby loves St. Patrick’s Day and I made her this banner with pictures of Holly. I would have like to have strung it from side to side but her dorm is small and it was better to have it hang straight down instead. I wish I had some more of the “O” rings as I would have like more separation between them. But, hey I even had them in green to match….lol

Yes, it is made from a baby’s sock! I got these at Joann Fabric’s for a dollar. I have one more picture I added the Leprechaun at the top.

Kaiser Craft~Chanteuse Collection

Kaiser craft’s new line Chanteuse is full of flowers and muted colors of mauve, olive green and cream.

Love all the new prima, the butterfly, rhinestone ribbon and say it in crystals, all that I got from Scrappers Cove. Did you know they have an Online Store, too!

I love this paper with the bird and dress form. Love the pink tiger lilies, too.

Here I made the ruffle from the bag Scrappers Cove uses to bag your supplies and the butterfly at the bottom is from a class I took with Patti Behan from Ranger. It is using utee as a faux foil technique.

This layout was inspired by Lean of http://scrapselsfromlean.blogspot.com/ her layout was with bigger hearts and was so pretty.

Graphic 45~Once in a Springtime

I’m on a roll….lol two more layouts. I love fairies and this Graphic 45 line Once in a Springtime is fabulous. Here is Gabby when she was 2 days old. The picture is kind of whitewashed… her outfit is a fine light pink that didn’t show up well:

I used a lot of stickles on the fairies and ribbon. This next layout is when Gabby was 1yr and 4 months. I used to sew all her dresses. I always made the collars to big…lol

Prima~Summerhouse~Pt. Pleasant, NJ

Well, today I went to my favorite place in Pt. Pleasant~Summerhouse and Point Pavilion Antiques.

Over the weekend I went to Scrappers Cove as they got in 16 new boxes and some where Prima! Here is my layout using the lace, buttons and Prima’s bling, butterflies, flowers and paper line Jack & Jill. Holly is getting so big she is 5 months old now.

Here is a closer look. I machine stitched around the pages, used the vintage lace, and my button I got from my finds today. Love the cute dog button and dog charms I added to prima’s new flower with the beads. Have a great week. Hugz, Z

“Le Cirque”~Graphic 45

Starting to really LOVE this line! Here is a layout I did using the “Le Cirque” collection.

I glimmer mist the doily with cherry, used Martha Stewart punch, QK elephant die and pennants. I hand cut the tent and flag. Just love these feathers…they remind me of the ladies on horses with their fancy head dresses. Hard to notice the clown running behind the feathers…lol Here are some closer looks.

We have had so much snow this winter in the East that I created these 4 pages using Bo Bunny’s Midnight Frost Collection.

Happy Valentine's Day~Ranger

Here are some tags I created using some of Ranger’s new stickles, liquid pearls and utee.

This first tag I made using Tim’s flourish die. I used the smaller flourish and snipped off the small curly Q and then interlock them together. I popped up the tag to see the Paris paper behind, this also would have made a great shaker box. I used the new Flamingo stickles and liquid pearls to create the small dots on the heart ribbon. I also, used Tim’s paper stack Shabby Vintage.

Hard to see on the white rose that it is covered with diamond stickles.

I colored the ribbon with distress ink sugar. Took Tim’s mask of the cupid and used the negative and inked with pumice stone.

On this tag I crackled the tag, used liquid pearls on the heart shaped doily, spayed the grunge cupid, used tissue tape on the wings, Tim’s tattered flower die with liquid pearls on the edges, inked and used Tim’s “love” embellishments.

New stickles and liquid pearls.

Here I combined bronze and platinum utee to cover the grunge rabbit, egg and flowers. I used tissue tape, liquid pearls, white crackle paint, ruffle ribbon and stickles.

Let’s Get Shabby Challenge #20~Graphic 45

Let’s Get Shabby challenge this month is all about weddings. Here is my take on the challenge and I’m using my new Graphic 45 Curtain Call Collection. Crème and black one of my favorite combinations. I love the peacock feathers which I had gotten when I went to Florida at Hobby Lobby. Isn’t it great when you have something in your stash you just knew you had to have but didn’t know when you where going to use it. ;o)

Of course this is me and my hubby over 25+ years ago. Where does the time go…. I cut around the edges and inked them, glimmer mist the white heart shaped doily with the color Simply Khaki. It’s had to see the shine that it has as well as using the peacock feathers…how cool are these in beige and black. Wish we had a Hobby Lobby here in Jersey. Added the flowers, hearts, webster’s cameo and lace. You pull the tag out and that is when you see “The Kiss”.

Do you see the piece of lace that is wrapped around the little cameo? Well, my friend June….I love to sit next to her at a crop~ she throws out the tiny scraps and of course, I scoop them up… Thanks Junie! Doesn’t it look great in this layout…lol

Basic Grey~Marjoline Class

Hi, just wanted to share with you my class we did this weekend. I used the Marjoline line from Basic Grey to create this “Our House” mini album.
