Let’s Get Shabby Challenge #11

Just seem to be getting under the wire with these challenges!  LOL  Our inspiration this challenge was this picture:

 

This is a colour challenge which I was disappointed I could not find my original pictures so I had to go with these for now. 

  I the edges with my new toy the Distrezz-it-All, I used Ranger alcohol ink butterscotch to ink Basic Grey Bee crystal, hand cut the bee’s nest and used ranger distress inks, prima sunflower vine and the packaging from the prima brown vine.

Close-up… I used to smock Gabby’s dresses when she was little.  I made the dress and we used her cabbage patch doll’s hat.  LOL

This is the picture I am looking for and will replace these with this one when I find it.

Jimmy had an Embroidery Business and used these pictures for his catalog long time ago.

I use to love to smock but with severe Rheumatoid arthritis I’m just not able, too.  I have quite a few dresses of her that I just love and still cherish.

    Aren’t the bee buttons so cute!  Now my friend Marlene (The Queen Bee) would love a dress like this!  ;o)  Well, we have a big scrapbooking expo her in New Jersey tomorrow.  Hope to find some goodies.  Have a BEE~utiful weekend!  Hugz, Z

Copic~Art Canvas

I was lucky enough this weekend to get treated to a class by my best friend Ellen.  I told her I was not getting involved in copic markers, and she wanted me to experience the technique.  We used airbrushing techniques, Memory capsule, faux metal, grunge and many more techniques.

Vintage Seaside Swap

I was invited to join this Vintage Seaside Swap by Sarah from the Gypsy Mermaid.  My wonderful partner is Stevie from My Art Canvas.  You had to make a shadow box and Stevie and I also, decided to swap 4 tags.  Stevie loves pastels, but I kind of went with a more hot pink look.  This was my first shadow box and she really liked how it turn out. 

I used a cigar box and left over material from the shirts I made Gabby.  You can’t really see the glitter in the material.  Stevie loves glitter!

In the lower corner I added this shell flower that I made into a pin/necklace.

These are the quilled fish I added.

Here is the back.

Now the back of this tag was blue???  Now when I went to print out this and the things I used on her tags it turn out pink?  Stevie loves pink….I think sent a fairy to change the color?  lol  It’s strange after I printed what I need to do for her it print blue again?  Here are the tags I made for her:

The tag on the left was blue and green and the tag on the right she had brown hair and blue and green tail?  Stevie, you must have sent a pixie to change my printer!   I sent along the other things that printed out pink for her.

Here is my upcoming class for June and you can see what this mermaid looked like before it was bewitched… lol

Can you believe this is what I put into the scanner and it turned out pink?  How funny is that.

Where Blogger’s Create II Party!

I have been playing around with my color pencils. I love the look of the copic markers but, just don’t want to start another expensive habit! ;o) So here is what I was up to this weekend:

I’ll have to practice some more, I really would like to get these brighter.

I off to Boston this week to bring Gabby back from BU. Where did this first year go to? lol She made the Dean’s list (and yes, proud Mommy) and she will be studying aboard next semester in London! Hopefully, we can visit her there in the fall! So, exciting! Have a great week! Hugz, Z
