More Snow on the East Coast

We are getting snow through the weekend.  I am having internet connections problems and they say I have a short on the outside line and they won’t be able to come until Tuesday the 2nd!  Hope it holds out while I’m posting.  lol

With so much snow I thought I would share another clear mini album I did 2 years ago while I was on a cruise.  Ahh, to be back in Bermuda……

Here I took the packaging from Heidi Swap’s ghost.  I love to recycle items.  The clay mermaid bear I purchased from ebay and added some seashells I collected off the beach.

IMG_4685

Here on the back of the packaging I added the quilling fish and bubbles.  Inked the edges in blue and stamped the waves.

IMG_4688

See how the flowers from the back page add to the front pages.  Love that!

IMG_4689

IMG_4690

Now the left page has only the flowers, the circles are on the backside so, when you use double sided paper you can see it through the acrylic!  My friend June and her daughter.

IMG_4691

Here you can see the flowers from the previous pages which add to this page.  I took the packaging from my Bo bunny brads (can’t let that cute heart go to waste!)  ;o)  I filled it with the pink sand and added the small sand dollar and seahorse.  Have a great weekend!  Hugz, Z

Lucky to be You

With St. Patrick’s Day approaching I thought I would share with you an album I gave to Gabby. I love to work with acrylic.

IMG_4646

IMG_4649

Sorry, these pictures are so dark but we’re getting another storm and had to take these pictures at night. The beauty of acrylic is that you can see threw the other pages which gives each page such dimension.

IMG_4651

Do you see how you can still see the bear and prima crystals threw this left side page? Love that!

IMG_4652

IMG_4653

IMG_4654

See how the flower and penny are peeking threw. I used white staz-on to ink the edges and stamping. Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping bye. Hugz, Z

Here is the back with the added wings.

Let’s Get Shabby Challenge #8

First, sooo glad it snowed! It gave me a chance to create an album for Gabby which I’m using for the Let’s Get Shabby Challenge #8.

IMG_4560

More snow to come on Wednesday! Maybe another 8 inches!

This month’s challenge was an eye opener for me! This challenge was all about those heart-string tugging letters, child notes, vintage war loves lost and won etc…just examples. Whatever we chose, our creation must contain a letter/s or note/s that you’ve written or been written by you or others living or passed.

I search my photos, my mother’s photos….and could not find one letter, sentence or note from my mother, grandmother that says anything to me? How sad I was not to know what small things I had done or what they were feeling. Now I realize HOW important journaling is! So, I created this mini album using Nikki Sivils 6 x6 mini paddie titled “U R My Favorite”. Here I show you some of the hand written notes I am giving her. I don’t have all the pictures in it yet as I wanted to take the pictures before the sun went down as I am putting it in the mail to her tomorrow.

IMG_4561

This is my 10 page mini album for Gabby. When she was little I always put notes in her lunch bag and drew my face. How I wish I kept some of those notes. :o( It should bring a smile to her face.

I hand cut the pages, added a lot of hidden places to write notes to her (which is the first of many to come I hope). I used Basic Grey bling, prima, stickles, felt pieces, ribbons, distress the edges and used charcoal cat's eye to ink.

IMG_4562

Here is a closer look with the tag tucked inside.

IMG_4563

IMG_4564

Here I used the new prima’s at Michael’s and used crepe paper to make the ruffle around the heart. June, recognize the butterfly???

IMG_4565

I’d like to take credit for the quilled flowers, but I’ll have to thank EK Success for saving me hours! ;o) As it was this took both days from morning till night. June, recognize the green leaf rub-ons??? LOL

IMG_4566

More prima flowers and Making Memories chipboard.IMG_4567

Another tucked in message for her. Don’t know how shabby chic it is but I really love it! What’s not to love my favorite colors black/pink!

Have a great week. Thanks for visiting me! Hugz, Z
